Women's Health Awareness Foundation - 100 Tales Campaign

WHAF is a 501(c)(3) NPO that works to end period poverty and health care inequality for all communities.

What is WHAF, exactly?

Women’s Health Awareness Foundation works to tackle period poverty and health care inequality for all communities. We are based in Georgia and came up with this idea in early 2019, but really started taking the initiative in November 2019. We are a team of three! We decided to start this because two of our teammates are from India, and they witnessed the stigma surrounding periods first-hand.

How do you implement your idea of tackling this issue on ground? Since you cover both USA and India, how do you manage to make your initiative impactful?

Locally, we’re spreading awareness through our social media - we’re doing a #HealthCareIsAHumanRight campaign right now - and we’ve also donated to local shelters that fight domestic abuse and human trafficking.
